Based in Scotland, Niall Benvie has worked as a photographer and writer for 20 years after an earlier career as a fruit farmer with a special interest in the nature/culture dynamic. He has travelled extensively in Europe covering diverse topics. These include the European Lynx reintroduction, Germany, peat extraction issues in the Baltic States and deer management in his native Scotland.
Author and illustrator of several internationally published books including Outdoor Photography Masterclass and Caledonia: Scotland’s Heart of Pine (with Pete Cairns). Niall has published more than half a million words in articles and books and is a regular speaker at photography conferences both at home and abroad. Niall has extensive experience leading photographic tours and workshops and is a founding fellow of the International League of Conservation Photographers. Niall leads our workshops in Iceland, Torridon and Islay
