Steve Razzetti

Steve Razzetti (aka ‘Baltoro Stick Man’) is a talented photographer, world traveller, mountain guide, DJ and fell runner. Steve lives in the Lake District with his wife Nats and three sons. Between 1984 and 2003 Steve spent an average of nine months each year in the Himalaya. During that time he began guiding and writing for various outdoor, travel and geographical publications. Since 2004 Steve’s Himalayan wanderings have been a little more sporadic due to housebuilding and family commitments, although a large part of his heart remains firmly in the Himalaya.

During 2004-5 Steve accompanied the celebrated historian and broadcaster Michael Wood on a series of journeys during the making of his BBC series and book ‘In Search of Myths and Heroes’. Steve’s photographs illustrate this book. Steve has always had a passion for photography and cannot ever imagine traveling without a camera. His Nikon FM2, F5 and Veronica the Bronica accompanied him every step of the way over countless high mountain passes. He stepped resolutely into the digital age in 2008 when first commissioned to shoot ‘The Big Chill’ music festival. Steve will be co-guiding our Himalayan Peaks & Source of the Ganges Indian Photographic Trek, May 2018
