As the winter snows recede in the North and North East, the Icelandic landscape bursts into life giving us an exceptional opportunity to photograph an abundant array of plant life against a backdrop of snow streaked mountains, remote fjords, serene fishing villages, magnificent waterfalls and colourful geothermal areas.
An early season photographic holiday combining some of Iceland’s classic and iconic sights with some less visited areas including: geothermal areas of Hengil Volcano, a kaleidoscope of colour, Þingvellir national park, walking onto the Mýrdalsjökull glacier, Skaftafel National Park, glacial iceberg lagoons, black beaches, basalt columnar waterfall and magnificent close views of Iceland’s highest mountain Hvannadalshnúkur.
Introducing a breathtaking expedition into the remote, vast and uninhabited interior of Iceland with some fine opportunities to photograph vast lava flows, deserts, powerful waterfalls, majestic mountains, volcanoes and glaciers including Europe’s biggest Ice cap Vatnajökull and the remote, little visited glacier Þorisjökull; a truly wild and unique opportunity for serious landscape photographers who are prepared to put in that ‘extra mile’ for their images.
A wonderful opportunity to photograph and fully experience a remote and visually attractive area of Iceland with an aura of times gone by; a time when boats and trails over impressive cliff tops and through wild mountain scenery were the only means of connecting the tiny fishing villages. Combining these remote fjords with our exploration of the colourful geothermal lake Mývatn area together with four of Iceland’s most outstanding waterfalls makes this a really full, exciting photographic experience.
