Bilbao, our North Spain Hub!
Geraldine Westrupp, 20. October 2026
We have recently returned from our North Spain’s Mountains, Medieval Villages and Coast holiday. The weather was incredible, I believe that we had a decent sunset every night. This gallery is a selection of everyone’s images plus some of folks out in the field.
In the past it was always a mystery to us why our North Spain Holidays didn’t sell very well! From 2005 up until 2024 we owned a house in this unique and photographically stunning part of Spain. We really appreciated what the area had to offer in terms of dramatic seascapes, jagged limestone mountains, pretty medieval villages and an air of ‘time gone by’ which still exists in many places to this day. Guests are often perplexed as to why the area is not over run with tourists!
Nowadays our WPH North Spain tours have grown greatly in popularity, maybe because a couple of years ago we decided to start and finish our tour in Bilbao capital city of the Basque area. Flights are plentiful and In addition to the world famous Guggenheim Museum, the city boasts an historic old town, the locals are friendly, cosmopolitan and visitors can enjoy some of the finest cuisine to be found anywhere! The Basque pintxos (tapas) bars are legendary! It’s possible to book tours with a local online including city sightseeing and photography. Folks love to add a couple of days in this incredible city before or after the WPH dates.
